SW District Winter Series 1 @ Dartmoor

Entries are now invited for the first of this years Winter Series. It is being run at the earliest opportunity on November 4th to enjoy the best of the weather. (Later months can be grim on the moors}.  The venue has been further upgraded with a renewed landing stage on the far side of the lake. Send your entries to Dave Morris as shown below.

Final Reminder for Entries

Entries for the final 2018 IOM Summer Series should to be sent to John White by Wednesday 24th October. The long range forecast is looking good with 14 mph winds.  The reservoir water level is again high, so enter now and enjoy the day.

SWDCS 6 Change of Venue

Due to a lack of water at the Woodspring club the SWDCS 6 & AGM on Sunday 28th October has been relocated to Bideford MYC.

To run a district RG65/DF65 (either combined, or 2 separate events?) championship event (we could hold it at Dartmoor for the first year?).

MYA SW District AGM

This years AGM is scheduled for Sunday 28th October following the SWDCS6 meeting at Woodspring. It is kept as a short meeting to allow skippers to drive home as early as possible.

Our District Councillor Paul Barton has said that he will not be able to continue in this post after this year. We thank him for his time and effort.
As Secretary, I am also more than happy to vacate my position to allow a more dynamic personality to take up the post. I will of course give you all the information I have to continue with this position.
The post of both Secretary and Councillor are therefore up for re selection.

RM Nationals & SW Skippers

After 2 days sailing at Manor Park congratulations go to Brad Gibson for winning this event. He fought off close challengers Peter Stollery & Rob Walsh.

4 South West skippers entered and did us proud. James and Tony Edwards from Yeovil club were 5th and 6th respectively out of 34 entrants.

Mike Cooke from Sedgemoor club was an impressive 11th sailing his own design “Rocket”. John Stone from Sedgemoor club was 27th also sailing a rocket.
